Gemini is the third constellation of the Western zodiac and is represented symbolically by the Heavenly Twins. Pollux and Castor are its primary stars and are respectively the sixteenth and twentieth brightest stars in the sky overall. They are named after a famous pair of twin brothers in classical mythology. When Castor was tragically killed in battle, the pair were placed in the heavens together, never to be parted.
From the mythological background, you’ll deduce that the average
Gemini isn’t a loner. Sociability is in fact a marked feature
of this sign, the first member of the air element. In common with all
those belonging to this triplicity, those born under its influence
are gregarious, companionable and communicative. Geminis regard social
interaction as an essential and especially rewarding facet of life,
so you could never be happy when isolated from your friends or hindered
in the pursuit of your everyday contacts and activities.

Most Geminis are lively, witty and are
fun to be around. You are fond of parties and all types of social
gatherings. Men born under this sign are sometimes not quite the social
butterfly epitomised by the Gemini female, but nonetheless you can
be sure that any gathering held under this sign’s influence will
be certain to go with a swing. You easily grow weary of dull routine,
so are always willing to meet new people, to enjoy a change of scenery,
to go somewhere different and to try out some new ideas and situations.
However, to paint Gemini purely as a party animal isn’t really
fair. The Twin’s dual symbolism also confers a more thoughtful
side to your nature, with meaningful conversation often preferred to
extended revelry in any case. You enjoy putting your perspective
on all sorts of matters and then learning the views of others in return.
You dislike solitude and have a low boredom threshold, meaning
those born under Gemini who will regularly stay at home, and on their
own, are rare. The combined urge to communicate and to interact
socially is a strongly motivating factor.
Some Geminis find their agile minds best occupied within the world
of work. Writing or broadcasting are both perfect Gemini careers. So
would be journalism, transportation, the media in general, travel,
sales and retail, secretarial work, teaching, hairdressing and virtually
any job that involves dealing with the public on a regular
basis. Other Geminis find fulfilment in close relationships, with partners
who can manage to keep them interested, entertained and engrossed.
In all relationships the other air signs make the best partners for
Gemini, although Aries and Sagittarius can be good company, for you,
too. When intellectually fulfilled you are certainly happy to spend
more time at home, than would be the norm under other circumstances. |

In reality this situation often works rather
well, since you tend towards scattering your energy and can benefit
from a more stable domestic situation. Ideally though, you also favour
some degree of external input and would feel bored, suffocated and
miserable should this not be forthcoming. Your sign is especially connected
with short journeys and with the local community, so here is where
many will be passing their time. When you do find yourself at home,
it is characteristic for most Geminis to spend hours on the telephone.
Others write and receive letters, cards and emails, but the constant
communication associated with the phone makes this a classically
Gemini activity. Without one, most Geminis would feel truly
bereft, and would view such circumstances in a similar way to losing
part of their own body. Fortunately, the advent of the mobile phone
has meant that rarely do you now need to be parted. A more ideal astrological
association – or
birthday present, although you almost certainly have one already – would
be hard to find for any Twin!
Another great affinity for many Geminis is the car. In order to get
out and about when necessary and at times that suit, for most the
car is another essential possession. In fact many Geminis favour vans
to cars, since there is more space into which to throw the various
belongings that you’re bound to need along the way. Regardless
of whether a car, bicycle or some alternative is the ultimate choice,
Geminis are often quite demanding of their chosen mode of transport,
and will definitely use it to its utmost capabilities.
Although some Geminis decide to live in rural situations, the town or the city
actually much better suits your desire for varied and constant activity, social
opportunity and intellectual stimulation. Consequently you are happiest in the
thick of the traffic, attempting to park in impossible situations and bashing
your car’s paintwork
with bundles of keys and with hands full of shopping. Nervousness and anxiety
are the worst health difficulties for this sign, but by ensuring that a fast
pace of life is always maintained, the negative effects of any excess nervous
energy can more readily be turned, with a little forethought and application, into an enviable and desirable
plus … |
